Last week I went up to Cape Canaveral with my mom to watch the shuttle launch. It was the closest I've ever been to a launch. We were maybe 2 miles away from the launch pad. So close you could feel it lift off! Unfortunately, having never been there before we didn't have the best spot. But we did find a good one for next time (October 20th!)
This first picture shows you just how many people were on the beach too. It was CRAZY! I have never in my life seen so many people on the beach!

And then here are two of the shuttle as it's going off. Sadly, I have to admit that my battery died right in the middle of the launch!! How stupid am I not to check? In my defense, it's the first time the battery has ever died on my new camera and I'm so not used to checking it. Good thing I had a spare in my bag... though it did take a while to change... :(

Yeah, the sky was kinda hazy that day... otherwise these pics could have been even more amazing!! But, there's always hope for next time! :)
